BEDDING
METHODS
Some
important tips regarding the application of tiles.
Once the surface has been prepared, it is important
to follow the correct bedding methods of the tiles
in wet adhesive:
-
Spread adhesive with the correct notched Pro
Max Trowel* to a minimum bedded thickness of
3mm on walls and 5mm on floors.
-
Press tiles firmly into wet adhesive with a
twisting action. Use a Pro Max Mallet* for large
or heavy tiles.
-
Occasionally lift a tile to check that full
contact is being made between the tile and the
adhesive.
-
Remove excess adhesive from joints before drying
has occurred. Always check on the tile box for
minimum grouting joint size, or check with one
of our sales assistants.
- "Butt"
joins should only be used if tiles have been
rectified.
-
Please check the Pro Grip* bag for when traffic
may be allowed over the application.
Only tile with tiles if they are dry. (Never
soak tiles.)
-
Heavier tiles must be bedded in a thicker layer
of wet adhesive. For extremely heavy duty or
high traffic floor areas, it is recommended
to apply a 10mm adhesive bed.
-
Never use spot or blob methods.
-
Use the Pro Max Wall Trowel* (6mm x 6mm notches
at 6mm intervals) for walls.
-
Use the Pro Max Floor Trowel* (10mm x 10mm at
6mm intervals) for floors.
